Join our family of schools

The Epworth Education Trust was established to be the home for Methodist academies but is underpinned by the Methodist ethos of ‘open hands’. As such, we are an inclusive Trust that welcomes a wide range of schools including Methodist and community schools, primary, secondary and special schools that are both convertor and sponsored academies.

The main purpose of the Trust is to be a place where schools can work collaboratively to be the best they can be. The aim is for all schools in the Trust to be highly successful schools providing the best education for the children in its care and supporting them to aim high.

If you share our vision and aspirations – whether this is already ingrained in the ethos of your school or an aspiration you are striving to achieve – join our Trust to benefit from receiving first-class operational and strategic support on your journey to educational excellence, and become part of a thriving community that understands the power of collaboration and the value of sharing expertise.

We welcome enquiries from schools that may want to explore informal relationships as well as those looking to develop a more formal partnership with our Trust. If you would like to get further information on ‘experiencing our offer’ and how this may benefit your school please do get in touch.

You can register your interest in joining our Trust by e-mailing Julie-Ann Hewitt: CEO@epwortheducationtrust.org.uk. Please include the name and address of your school, details of the current Headteacher/Principal, an e-mail address and your contact number.

Our booklets on this page also give you more information.

Become a Governor in one of our schools

School Governors play a hugely important role in making sure that every young person is given the best education, opportunities and experiences possible.  They work as a team, overseeing the work of the school, acting as a “critical friend” to the senior leadership team and holding the school to account for performance and development.

If you are over 18, passionate about education and about helping young people achieve their potential, why not consider becoming a Governor? We are always on the lookout for people who share the mission, vision and values of the Trust and who can bring experience and leadership to support and challenge our schools.  We offer training and support to help Governors fulfil their roles successfully and our Governors’ network helps all our Governors to learn from each other and to share experiences and ideas.

If you wish to become a governor in one of our schools and help serve as a key link between the school, parents/carers and the local community,  please contact our clerk Tammy Cook for a chat - Clerk@epworthtrust.org.uk

Register your interest in becoming a Trustee

Strong boards comprise diverse individuals who represent their communities. As a collective, trustees should possess a wide range of skills and experiences. Onboarding people from different backgrounds and professional fields such as law, HR, IT, and finance will ensure the board makes the best decisions that benefit young people.

A trustee’s primary responsibility is to hold their trust’s leadership team to account through strategic decision-making, ensuring the trust meets its short- and long-term goals. As part of this, you’ll need to dedicate up to eight hours per month to the role and attend up to nine meetings across a 12-month period.

If you wish to discuss the role more and register your interest, please contact the CEO Julie-Ann Hewitt: CEO@epwortheducationtrust.org.uk.

Become a Volunteer

Our schools appreciate the work and skills a volunteer can give to the school whether that is being in the classroom or helping out in the office. If you wish to volunteer, please contact the school directly.
